Prediction about the regime of Mansur Dawaniqi and his brother

Tabari Imami has narrated through his chains of authorities from Amash that he said: Abu Ja’far Mansur Dawaniqi narrated to me: During the time we used to flee here and there to escape Bani Umayyah regime, my brother, Abul Abbas Saffah and I once went to the Prophet’s Masjid, where we found Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s). When he saw us, he told the person sitting with him:

“I can see that these brothers would get power and rule.” Upon this the person arose and came to us; and mentioned the prediction. We brothers went to the Imam and asked,

“What were you saying, O son of Messenger of Allah?” 

He replied, “You would gain power in the near future, but you would be cruel towards my descendants and soon perish as a result of that.” 

Mansur Dawaniqi used to say that the prophecy of Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s) was fulfilled to the letter and after just a short period of time my brother gained the throne and after him I ascended to the throne.

Incident of Ibne Mahziyar Ahwazi

Ali Ibne Ibrahim bin Mahziyar narrates one year when the Hajj season arrived, I prepared for the journey and set out to Medina. When I reached Medina, I inquired from the people about the descendants of Imam Hasan Askari (a), but could not get any information. I was very much worried and at last set out for Mecca. On the way, one day at Johfa I headed for Ghadeer, which is at a distance of four miles from Johfa. I reached there and prayed in the Masjid and after that I supplicated Almighty Allah very fervently; but the aim was not fulfilled there also. So I went to Asfan and thus passing each stage in turn, reached Mecca. I stayed there for some days and was engrossed in Tawaf and other devotions. One night, when I was doing the Tawaf, I noticed an extremely handsome and fragrant young man walking about and doing the Tawaf of the Kaaba. Some feelings arose in my heart; I moved towards him and touched him. He asked: Where do you belong to? I said: Iraq. He asked: Where in Iraq? I said: ...
