Mahdi is mentioned in the tradition of Meraj

Shaykh Saduq has mentioned in a lengthy tradition in his Kamaluddin:

9- The Messenger of Allah (s) said:

“When I went on ascension Allah spoke to me as follows:

I have given this excellence to him (Ali) and through his loins I will give you eleven guides all of who shall be from Batool. Behind the last of them will pray Isa bin Maryam and he would fill the earth with justice and equity as it would be fraught with injustice and oppression. Through him there will be escape from destruction and salvation from misguidance. Through him the blind will get sight and the sick will get cure.

I said: My Lord, when will his advent be? He replied: When knowledge would have disappeared and ignorance will be widespread. The Quran will be recited in excess and less will be acted on it. There will be murders in excess. The rightful jurisprudents will be few and the unscrupulous jurisprudents will be many.

Poets will be there in large numbers and your Ummah will make graves a place of prostration. The Quran will be confined to receptacles and Masjids will be decorated with gold and silver. There will be oppression and rebellion in excess. Your Ummah will be exhorted to commit evils and stopped from performing good deeds.

Women will satisfy their lusts with women and men with men. The rulers will disbelieve, the saints will transgress and their companions will oppress. Family ties will be severed.

There will be eclipse for three days: the first in East, then in West, then in the Arabian Peninsula. A person from your Ummah will appear and ransack Basra. The blacks will follow him. A person from the progeny of Husain bin Ali will appear and Dajjal will appear from Sajistan in the East. Sufyani will also appear...

It is narrated from Huzaifah bin Usaid Ghiffari who said: When Hasan bin Ali bade farewell to Muawiyah and left for Medina, I accompanied him in his journey, and there was a loaded camel in front of him, not separating from him wherever he headed. One day I said to him, ‘May I be sacrificed for you, O Abu Muhammad! This luggage, you do not separate from it wherever you are headed.’ He said: ‘O Huzaifah! Do you know what it is?’ I said, ‘No.’ He said: ‘This is the register.’ I said, ‘A register of what?’ He said: ‘Register of our Shias wherein are their names.’ I said, ‘May I be sacrificed for you! Show me my name.’ He said: ‘Come in the morning.’ He said: ‘I went to him in the morning and with me was a nephew of mine, and he was literate and I could not read. He said: ‘What have you come for in the morning?’ I said, ‘The need which you promised me.’ He said: ‘Who is that youth with you?’ I said, ‘A nephew of mine, and he is literate, and I am not.’ He (the narrator) said, ‘He said to me: ‘Be seated!’ So, I sat down. He said: ‘Get me the middle register.’ I came with it.’ The youth looked and there were names listed. While he was reading, he said, ‘O uncle! Here is my name!’ I said, ‘May your mother be bereft of you! Look where my name is.’ He turned a page, then said, ‘There is your name.’ So, we cheered, and the youth was martyred with Husain bin Ali” Reference: Basairud Darajaat, Pg. 172, Tr. 6, Miracles of Ahlulbayt (a.s. ) - Vol. 2.Pg.70
